About Anna Shaver LPC, LCDC-I

I completed my Master's in Counseling from the University of Houston in 2011. Previous experience at a psychiatric hospital, an outpatient assessment center, home-based therapy services, employee assistance program, psychologists' private practice and an early education center have provided me with a solid background in diverse counseling settings as well as diverse clientele, presenting issues, and therapeutic modalities.

During my internships and first years post-graduate, I primarily focused on working with children, adolescents and family and gained a solid mastery of child-centered play therapy and parenting skills.  After my master's program I have worked with adults in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospital and an employee assistance program.  I enjoy assisting others through their life challenges whether it be from life transitions, trauma, substance abuse, mood disorders, grief or self-improvement through an inner journey of self exploration.  I fundamentally believe in growth and see that despite the tribulations in life, there is hope and fulfillment.

In my time outside of therapy, I am a ceramic artist where I use clay work as my own therapeutic practice.  You can see my ceramic art website at www.evolvestoneware.com.

I also spend time outdoors taking advantage of the natural landscape of the hill country.  I am married with 2 dogs and a cat and thus spend a lot of my time enjoying their company.  I also take advantage of my days off to travel outside of Austin an internationally as much as possible.  Below is a picture from Patagonia, Argentina from my honeymoon in 2018.
